If you have your Thanksgiving turkey in the freezer, you might want to start thawing it out in the fridge starting today or tomorrow. For refrigerator thawing instructions (this is the safest way), click here www.butterball.com/tips-how-tos/how-tos/thawBtw, the turkey will stay fresh for up to four days after refrigerator thawing. While you are at it, especially if you are having company you might want to put down on paper a 'time frame' of when you need to get things accomplished before the big day. Brining your turkey?? Do this the day before. Serving mashed potatoes? I find it easier to peel, put in some salted water the day before. Put them in the same pan you plan on boiling them in, hold over night in the fridge and boil them a couple hours before dinner. Baking pies? Bake them a day or two ahead of time and just warm them up in the warm oven while ever one is eating. Have a happy holiday Cider-Roasted Sweet Potatoes Prep: 10 minutes Cook time: 30 minutes Makes 8 servings * 6 medium sweet potatoes (about 3 pounds), sliced into 8 wedges each * 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil * 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon * 1/2 teaspoon salt * 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper * 1/3 cup unsweetened apple cider Heat oven to 400ยบ F.
