Some more massive meat recalls money.cnn.com/2007/04/21/news/beef_recall.reut/index.htm?postversion=2007042111There are a couple of things that piss me off about this situation. 1) The USDA uses billions of our dollars every year to make sure our food is safe. A few months ago they announced they were downsizing their inspections so as to not waste 'manpower'. For example: if an establishment has had a 'clean bill of health' for a certain length of time, there will be no more inspections unless a 'problem' arises! WTF??? 2) If the USDA was dong it's job, why would they not find problems before they left the plant? Is it acceptable to wait for the public to get sick first, before they investigate? If they are not going to do their jobs, then let's just hurry up the move to "irradiation" www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dbmd/diseaseinfo/foodirradiation.htm

An even more disturbing update www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18263251/However, I've mentioned it off and on for years, it should come as no surprise. The only surprise is that they admitted it!
