Old Fashioned rolled oats are great for breakfast or even as a savory meal. Yep, savory oats are a thing. But that's for another post. Steel Cut oats are better. They are whole groats chopped up. They have some chew and are less processed. Whole grain oat groats are best. Chewy, flavorful, filling and the least processed of the group. I cook 'em in my rice cooker on the porridge setting just as I would steel cut oats. I set the rice cooker's timer and they are ready when I wake up. Bob's Red Mill Oat Groats. Keep them in the fridge unless you're like me and eat this 1 pound bag within a week. Sometimes sooner. Finished groats in my rice/grain cooker One serving with blueberries. This is how I eat them for breakfast. No sugar, no plant "milk". no nuthin'. Just berries cause, you know, berries.
