Question from James, "Could you tell me the difference between Chairman's reserve beef and Certified angus? Is there better quality than these products? Which one is better?"
James, to begin with, the only better beef is USDA Prime. CAB and Chairman's Reserve are both in the top 20% of higher levels of Choice beef. A few years ago IBP (Iowa Beef Processors) had a great CAB program, but was upset with every one jumping in on the "Angus" craze and decided to separate itself from the rest of the suppliers. They developed their Chairman's Reserve line (CR) with the beef that was just not good enough to be USDA Prime, but was too good to be sold as Choice. This beef also had the same characteristics of CAB, but just a little better, in my opinion. Both are great beef, but, I prefer CR if I have a choice (pun intended). Hope this helped?
