Mmmmm.....Mmmmmm.....Mmmmmm, made a batch of this today and is it good or what!
Melon Juice Cooler
3 qts chopped ripe melons (I used half and half cantalope and honeydew) 1½ cups pineapple-orange juice 1½ cups bottled sweetened lime juice from concentrate dash salt 2/3 cup orange or melon liquer (I used Triple Sec) 3 cups rum, vodka or tequila (I like a mix of rum & tequila) 1-2 ltr bottle of 7-Up, chilled (or cheap store brand) Lemon and Lime slices (optional)
Put chopped melon into a large bowl. Combine the pineapple-orange juice, the lime juice and the salt and pour it over the melon. Let sit for at least 2 hours (refrigerating overnight would be great).
Mash or crush the melon mixture in small batches using a blender. Press the mashed fruit through a sieve or collander to get out the pilp. There should be 9-11 cups of juice, at this point. Add the Triple Sec to the melon juice and chill.
To serve, pour melon juice into a large serving bowl and add your liquor. Pour in the chilled bottle of 7-UP. Float some ice and the fruit.
