Cuban Sandwich (revisited) « Thread Started on Nov 7, 2009, 8:00am »
Dave & Lisa (from FUTG fame) stopped by for a visit on Friday. I'd grilled a couple of Pork Tenderloins the night before so I could make Cuban Sandwiches for lunch.
'MY' version of a Cuban Sandwich consists of Cuban bread from the bakery, (clockwise l/r) Genoa Salami, the sliced Pork Tenderloin, Irish Swiss Cheese and Deli Ham.
Butter and mustard on both sides of the bread, then the layered meats (in order...pork, salami, ham) and topped with Kosher Dill sandwich slices
Into a hot frying pan with foil wrapped fire bricks to keep them flat.
This next photo does not do the sandwich any favor. I know dam well I took a pic of the plated Cuban with potato salad, but derned if I can find it! Help me out here Dave....you saw me take the pic..right???
Any way, here are a couple on the cutting board after I had cut them diagonally.
